Believer's Foundations

What this course is

Believer's Foundations is a complete discipleship course in 48 video sessions — around twenty hours of teaching. It begins with the most basic question a person can ask about God and ends with a believer equipped to pray for the sick, resist the enemy, and disciple someone else. Nothing is assumed along the way. If you came to faith last week, start at session one and work straight through.

How it is arranged

The teaching runs in four parts. Each part builds on the one before it, and the sessions within each part are numbered so you always know where you are and what comes next.

Part 1 — Who God Is and What Went Wrong (11 sessions)

The character of God, the Trinity, and the authority of Scripture. Creation and the image of God, the fall, and what sin actually is. Heaven, hell and eternity. Why Jesus came, and what the cross and the resurrection accomplished. The part closes on the difference between religion and relationship.

Part 2 — Your New Life in Christ (7 sessions)

What happened at the new birth, the righteousness God credits to you, the finished work of the cross, and the security of the believer. Then identity in Christ, God as Father, and knowing Jesus. This is solid ground for anyone who is saved but still unsure of where they stand.

Part 3 — Growing in the Word, Prayer and Faith (14 sessions)

How to read the Bible and rightly divide the covenants. Knowing the Holy Spirit, the foundations of prayer, and hearing God's voice. Then a full treatment of faith — what it is, how it comes, how it works through love, and how it is expressed in action. The part finishes with the power of words and confession, renewing the mind, and Christian character.

Part 4 — Power and Ministry (16 sessions)

The baptism in the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues, and the gifts and fruit of the Spirit. Then the authority of the believer: the name of Jesus, identifying the real enemy, dealing with evil spirits, walking in the anointing, boldness and fasting. It ends with two sessions on healing — healing in the atonement, and how to receive and stand in it.

How to use it

Watch the sessions in order; the course is written to be followed, not dipped into. Keep a Bible open beside you, because every session sends you back to the text. Small groups and home churches are welcome to use it together — one session per meeting works well.
